Dustin Johnson returns to the number one spot.

Dustin Johnson is Golf’s world number one again. He reclaimed top spot in the rankings with a dominant 11-shot victory at the Northern Trust tournament in Boston on Sunday. Johnson posted a score of 30-under to finish 11 shots clear of fellow American, Harris English.

It was his 22nd PGA Tour victory. This came quickly on the heels of his tied for second placing at last month’s PGA Championship. He has now secured at least one PGA title in each of his 13 seasons on the tour.

The 2016 U.S. Open champion’s raw, natural talent was evident as he recorded rounds of 67, 60 and 64 over the first three days. Despite a temporary storm delay on the final days play, Johnson made six birdies and one eagle to complete a final-round eight-under 63 in near-darkness. Johnson is now the fifth different player this year to occupy the number one spot in the world rankings.

Johnson’s incredible 30-under score was just one shot off the lowest ever recorded over four rounds in PGA Tour history. That record is still held by Ernie Els, who set it at Kapalua in 2003 matched by JT, who equalled the feat at the Sony Open in 2017.

Johnson’s exceptional performance was once again aided by his TaylorMade equipment. This included the SIM Driver, SIM Max Fairway, SIM Max Rescue, P730 Irons, MySpider Tour putter, Milled Grind 2 Wedge Chrome, TP5x Golf Balls and Tour Staff Bag.
